Mrs. Amanda Woollard, Social Worker/Counselor

Hello! My name is Amanda Woollard and I am a Licensed Social Worker. I love being a social worker at Lynchburg-Clay Middle School. I believe every student can succeed and it is a passion of mine to come alongside them to be a support along the way.
I am looking forward to working with students, families and the community. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at any time. I can provide support as well as many resources to students and families. My email is [email protected] or you can reach me by calling the Middle School at 937-364-2811.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are writing to inform you about the required curriculum for the 2024-2025 school year, which covers important topics such as child sexual abuse prevention, dating and sexual violence prevention (Erin's Law: Senate Bill 288), as well as suicide and violence prevention (House Bill 123). These laws, passed in January 2023, mandate that schools provide age-appropriate education on these critical subjects.

To meet these instructional requirements, the Lynchburg-Clay Local School District has selected the following Ohio Department of Education and Workforce-approved curricula:

  • House Bill 123 (Suicide & Violence Prevention):

    • Erika’s Lighthouse: Level II (Grades 6-8) [Link]

    • Sandy Hook Promise: Say Something (Grades 6-8) [Link]

  • Erin’s Law (Child Sexual Abuse Prevention):

    • Fight Child Abuse.org (Grade 6) [Link]

    • PSW: Empowered/Speak Up (Grades 7-8) [Link]

Middle school students will receive this instruction on April 14th and 15th. If you do not wish for your child to participate, you must submit a written opt-out request to the principal before these dates.

If you have any questions or need further information, please contact your child’s principal.

Thank you,

Lynchburg-Clay Administration Team

Character Strong

We are very excited to share with you that for the 2023-2024 school year we will continue to use a program called “Character Strong: PurposeFull People” this helps our students focus on social, emotional learning.

We at Lynchburg-Clay Middle School will be utilizing resources and activities to help teach a wide range of character traits that will help your child become more successful both academically and socially.
